Of course, a test like this one isn’t necessarily necessary (:p ) since many people have been tortured in this particular way in plenty of prison camps all over the world, whether it was in the past during medieval times, or right now during the wars this world is currently facing. All these testimonies of real life events now just have an extra “experimental view” on what happens when facing those same environment over and over again.
It might also give insight in how people behave when socially isolated.
